  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red onion (medium-size)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 pound minced beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp salt, (or more, to taste), divided
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 sprig cilantro, (chopped)
  • ½ cup diced fritos maduros, (optional)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

How to Make Yaroa step by step

  1. In a microwave-safe pan, place the celeriac sticks. Pour enough water to completely submerge them.
  2. 3 minutes in the microwave then remove the water and microwave from the equation.
  3. Whichever fries you cook, make sure they're crispy. Drizzle the olive oil over the potato or celeriac.
  4. Season with the remaining salt.
  5. Season with pepper and garlic powder.
  6. Toss to evenly distribute the oil and seasoning.
  7. Cook for 25 minutes, or until they acquire a light golden color and are crispy around the edges, on a baking sheet in a preheated oven. If you wish to make them in an air fryer, follow the manufacturer's temperature and time recommendations.
  8. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions until they are tender and transparent. Then add the garlic and cook for another minute or two, stirring constantly.
  9. Cook the meat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula while it cooks. When the meat is done, whisk in the tomato sauce until it is heated through. Salt, garlic, and pepper to taste.
  10. Place the fries on four microwave-safe plates in a layer.
  11. Add the piping-hot meat on top. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  12. If the cheese does not melt from the hot meat, heat the plates in the microwave for 90 seconds or until the cheese melts.
  13. Serve immediately with mayo and ketchup drizzled on top.
