TVET Training KickOff in August: Your Path to a Skilled Future Awaits!

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program is set to launch in August 2025, promising a transformative journey for aspiring artisans, technicians, and innovators across Nigeria. Officially unveiled on May 31, 2025, this initiative is a game-changer, designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Whether you’re dreaming of mastering a trade, launching a business, or carving out a niche in a high-demand industry, TVET is your ticket to success. Let’s unpack this exciting announcement and explore how you can seize this chance to shape your future.

    OVERVIEW

The TVET program is spearheaded by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), with its visionary Executive Secretary, Mr. Idris Bugaje, leading the charge. During a recent visit to the Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV), Bugaje dropped the exciting news, outlining a robust plan to empower Nigerian youth through hands-on training. “This is about building a skilled workforce that can compete globally,” he declared, emphasizing the program’s focus on practical, market-driven skills. With training hubs spread across Federal and State Government Training Centers—and even select private institutions—the initiative is poised to make a massive impact nationwide.

The program is thoughtfully structured into three distinct tracks, catering to different age groups and career aspirations:

    • Master 12 (1 Year): A comprehensive, year-long immersion for those ready to deep-dive into their chosen trade.
    • Master 6 (6 Months): A fast-paced, intensive course designed to get you job-ready in just half a year.
    • Technical College Track (3 Years): A long-term option for younger learners aged 13 to 20, offering a solid foundation for a lifelong career.

Each track is tailored to meet participants where they are, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all. Whether you’re a teenager eager to explore a trade or an adult looking to pivot into a new career, TVET has a path for you.

    WHY TVET MATTERS

In a world where skills are the currency of success, the TVET program is a golden opportunity to invest in yourself. It’s more than just training—it’s a movement to empower Nigerian youth, bridge the skills gap, and fuel economic growth.
