There are many recipes on the Internet that will tell you how to make Naruto cake, but most of them are either too difficult or require ingredients that are difficult to find in the United States. However, it’s easy to make Naruto cake at home with only three ingredients and one baking dish, making it perfect for those who love both anime and baking.

What is Naruto cake?

Narutomaki, a famous ramen topping with a characteristic pink swirl in the middle, is formed from surimi (white fish paste) that has been shaped into a log and steamed type of cured fish cake. This pink spiral is produced by dyeing half of non-oily fish minced flesh with red food coloring before shaping it into a cylinder.

Narutomaki is a Japanese dish. It has a chewy texture and a little gefilte fish flavor. Because you incorporate egg white and starch into the fish paste as binder materials, narutomaki does not taste too fishy owing to the washing process. It should be kept in the refrigerator and not frozen.

A cake formed from this dish is what we know as Naruto-cake. Making a naruto cake takes every baker up to 7-8 steps

  5. Spread little vegetable shortening on the work space so the marshmallow mix does not stick to the work surface.
  6. Drop the mixture on the work surface and knead the mixture
  7. Add in more castor sugar and keep kneading until it forms a stiff ball of dough.
  8. Hold the dough stiff with one hand and pull the other end with the other hand (if the dough stretches by few inches and starts breaking, then its perfect)
  9. If it stretches, stop kneading.
  10. Apply shortening all around the dough and cover it with plastic wrap and set aside over night.

Use gel colors or powder colors in your fondant because liquid colors can alter the consistency of the fondant.
To color it, take a tiny bulb of white fondant, dip it inside the gel color and wipe it on the white fondant and knead well. Repeat this process, until the right color is obtained.
